The Eisenhower West/Landmark Van Dorn Implementation Advisory Group will hold its first meeting where the group will begin discussion on their mission as well as provide an overview of the Eisenhower West and Landmark/Van Dorn Corridor Plans and related upcoming projects and studies.
City Council will hold their regularly scheduled legislative meeting. Items of interest include appointments to the Industrial Development Authority and to the Marketing Fund Committee, an Oral Report on the Washington Reagan National Airport Aircraft Noise Community Working Group Update, Consideration of Acceptance and Allocation of $350,000 from the Commonwealth Opportunity Fund and Consideration of Acceptance and Allocation of $250,000 from the Governor's Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund.
The Planning Commission will hold their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Items of interest include consideration of a request to add rooftop dining at 121 South Union Street - Union Street Public House, a new Special Use Permit (SUP) for CARD Academy- a private academic school at 4875 Eisenhower Avenue, changes to Portner Brewhouse's SUP to allow off-premises alcohol sales and additional outdoor seating at 650 S. Van Dorn Street, changes to approvals for the National Industries for the Blind new headquarters at 3000 Potomac including a parking reduction and an encroachment into the public right-of-way and Planning Commission review of whether the proposed purchase of property by the Alexandria City Public Schools at 1701 and 1705 North Beauregard Street is consistent with the City of Alexandria Master Plan.
The Planning Commission will hold a work session to receive an update on the North Potomac Yard planning process.
The Board of Architectural Review - Old & Historic District will hold their regular monthly meeting. Items of Interest include a request for new signage at 277 S. Washington St. for Barre3, review of selected site elements and furnishings for use as Waterfront Common Elements, and an informal work session for a concept review of proposed redevelopment at 203, 205, and 211 Strand Street by the IDI Group.
The North Potomac Yard SAP Advisory Group will hold a worksession.
The North Potomac Yard Small Area Plan Update Advisory Group will hold its sixth meeting on Monday, August 29 at 7 p.m. in the community room at the Station at Potomac Yard, 650 Maskell Street. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss plan framework elements and open space.
